CLYDE BALDO
as Casimiro 'Cass' Corregio

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. But there are times when a cigar could represent almost anything. During those times it helps to have an actor like Clyde Baldo who can project that metaphor. Besides being an actor with experience in 40 plays, 20 films, 14 commercials, 10 radio plays and 4 TV network roles, Clyde is a psychotherapist in private practice with a Masters Degree in Spiritual Psychology. "Being a psychotherapist has definitely helped me as an actor because I understand human nature. I know the way the psyche works."

The Manhattan native began acting in college, but took a hiatus from the performing arts a few years after graduating. 10 years later, he felt the urge to "reconnect with my creative energy." Clyde has since invested much of his time to his creative endeavors. Besides acting he has also directed 13 plays and he serves as an acting coach and a monologue writer.

Clyde was attracted to The Cutting Den because he "likes plays with a sense of group community. I like that shared experience among people. A barbershop is a good example of a place where people get together and live life."

He also likes how Stevens designed the play so that "the characters have to examine themselves. They are strong characters who must face their issues. It is similar to the branch of psychology that I practice. Spiritual Psychology focuses on the healing of one's issues and wounds. It urges the client to honor and listen to their soul's voice and to live from that truth. To see the blessings and lessons put in front of us. People are taught to face their decisions and choices, and to recognize the cause and effect and nature of those choices."

Clyde's favorite theater roles were Shylock in The Merchant of Venice, Al in Road to Nirvana, Michael in Tricycle, and Henry Harry in Brilliant Traces. His favorite TV roles were the photographer in the Sopranos, Wes Banyon in Law and Order - Criminal Intent, and Balls Abromowitz in Breaking Vegas.
