BERNARD FEINERMAN
as Noah Larkin

Bernard Feinerman is an actor's actor. The Brooklyn, NY native has performed in dramas, musicals, and even operas in his 40-plus years of acting. He even studied theater at Oxford under the direction of the Royal Shakespeare Company, where British theater legend Rosemary Harris was his teacher. He credits Harris with teaching him how to "make the words one's own" and how to "paint a verbal picture."

A speech pathologist for the past 30 years, Bernard has devoted much of his free time to the theater. His laundry list of acting accomplishments reads like the resumes of several actors added together. He is an expert in both method and classical acting, and he admits that there is one role he still longs to play: Shylock. Yet his talents are obviously not limited to the theater since he spent four years (1979-1983) hosting and producing his own radio program, The Sound Odyssey. The program had a music-talk format and could be heard on WHBI-FM in New Jersey.

When Bernard first read The Cutting Den script and was introduced to the character of Noah, he was reminded of Meshiach in Ansky's The Dybuk. "The Meshiach foretold of things that were going to happen," said Bernard. "Noah is a little like that."

Noah serves as the conscience of the play, an appealing role for Bernard. "I can imagine Noah saying, 'When it decides to rain there are no half measures about it. At the deluge hop into my ark.'
