MARLO MARRON
as Lana Costello

"I love Lana," says Marlo Marron. "Her character is real. There is a sense of self-realization to Lana and to all the characters in the play."

"For the past few years I've been devoted to my children, my music and my novel. But recently I returned to acting by accepting a part in Allison Anders' next screenplay Smile Now, Cry Later. It wasn't long after that when Ron asked whether I was interested in reading his new play for the role of Lana Costello. I read The Cutting Den and I couldn't let Lana go," she says.

Marlo was the lead in an ABC primetime drama Moon Over Miami and earned critical acclaim for her performance in Mi Vida Loca, the Allison Anders film that went to the Cannes Film Festival. Time Magazine and The New York Post had the following to say about Marron's performance in Mi Vida Loca.

"When the camera holds on the gorgeous faces of Marlo Marron and Salma Hayek, beauty becomes truth-the repository of hope and despair."
Richard Corliss, Time Magazine

"...while Marlo Marron as Giggles' not only delivers her preachy lines with panache, but ignites every scene in which she appears with her extraordinary beauty, grace and intensity."
Michael Medved, NY Post

A successful actress who studied under Sheila Gray, Susan Batson, and Bill Esper of the William Esper Conservatory, Marron has cut three albums in the genres of Blues, Country, Folk, and Rock. She has played her music at several clubs, including Joe's Pub.
